Klyde Warren Street Style

We spent this morning walking around Klyde Warren Park and visiting the food trucks. Because of the "chilly" 50 degree weather today we had to rely on long sleeves and jackets. We are both ready to ditch our jeans for shorts, but we have about 3 more weeks of this weather. So we are making the most of it and wearing our favorite winter outfits before it gets warm again. Most of the pieces from our outfits are linked with the pictures below. Though, some are not found online and are listed at the bottom of this post.  Make sure to leave your thoughts or any questions about this post in the comments below!

DIY: Jewelry Board

We have the perfect solution for tangled and unorganized jewelry! This DIY jewelry board is so easy to make. The inspiration for this comes from a previous DIY project Ashley did by turning an old wooden frame into a jewelry board.
It's best to use a cork board so you can put pins in it and move them around. We spent over an hour at our local Jo-ann Fabric and Craft store before we finally picked out which fabric to use. The fabric we chose is cotton because it is less likely to get runs in it. Instead of the border being plain wood we painted it with gold metallic paint to match the fabric. We decided to glitter our push-pins to make them a little cuter. Since it was VERY messy we recommend gluing buttons or small trinkets to them instead.

How to:

1. Measure the Dimensions of your cork board.
2. Fold your fabric to make it doubled if you have a thin cotton fabric.
3. Cut your fabric to fit the dimensions of your cork board.

4. Before you cover the board with fabric paint the border.

5. Cover the board with fabric by hot gluing it on.
6. Hang up jewelry with push pins.

Weather Adjustment

The Look

Wraps and blanket scarves are a huge staple in my wardrobe, because Texas weather is 40 degrees in the morning and 70 degrees by the time I get out of class. These are perfect to pair with a lightweight dress or top. I prefer these over a simple cardigan, because they are more comfortable and trendy- it feels like you're wrapped up in a blanket.

The Style

I naturally have puffy hair and I typically pull it back when I am not in the mood to straighten it. Today I wanted a more relaxed look, so I styled it with a top knot . The only thing different about my makeup is a wine red matte lip color.... testing out colors for Valentine's Day.
My ruana wrap is V.FRAAS which is not sold online, but here is a similar one from Nordstrom. It is paired with a simple black ruffle sundress, black cable knit tights, and my cowgirl boots.

Saturday's OOTD

This is my favorite outfit I have worn in a long time! Sorry for the lack of pictures... I was in a rush to get to a dinner on time.  My dress is a long sleeve skater dress from Forever 21. It's very versatile and I normally pair it with a fur vest or my leather jacket depending on what look I'm going for. Unfortunately it is no longer sold online, but you can find a similar one hereMy purse is my absolute favorite. It can fit so much stuff in it, but it isn't clunky so I take it everywhere. The Romeo & Juliet cape is sold out and no longer available online. A good substitution for it would be a blanket scarf folded a few times. The nice thing about this wrap is that it has enough weight and thickness to it so its a bit more youthful and doesn't look like shawl. Make sure to leave any comments about this post below!

Winter Whites

Everyone knows that after Labor Day white should pretty much become non-existent in your wardrobe. Though, when paired with creams or jewel tones you can pull almost any white piece of clothing out of your closet. Ashley paired her white jeans with a cream and charcoal gray poncho, brown booties, and emerald green Kendra Scott earrings.
