Prom Style: Long Dresses

We hope you all enjoyed last week's post on short style prom dresses! This post is focused on the more traditional long prom dress. We featured our favorite formal dresses from last year, representing our two different styles. There are also a few prom dress suggestions we chose to include at the bottom of this post!

Ashley:

Ashley chose a form fitting one shoulder with a beaded belt that accents her waist. These dresses are very flattering, but you must make sure to have them altered correctly. She picked her crimson red dress partially based on how the color complements her skin tone. If you have a warm toned skin color, reds, pale pinks, yellows, and greens look best. This is an important thing to keep in mind while dress shopping.

Regan:

Regan is wearing a strapless ball gown with an embellished bodice. Finding a dress with an embellishment like this makes shopping for jewelry easier because you can keep it simple. Her dress also features hidden pockets, which are always a plus! Her cool skin tone looks best with jewel toned colors such as sapphire blue and emerald green.

Prom Style: Short Dresses

Prom season is here! As one of the most exciting nights in high school, getting ready and shopping for that perfect outfit can be so stressful! We have been lucky enough to attend prom all four years because our school is so small, so we've had plenty of experience with the struggle of finding a great dress. The first question to ask yourself when you begin your search is if you want to wear a short dress or a long dress. After this decision is made, the process becomes so much easier! Make sure to check back for our prom post on long dresses!

Ashley:

This look is the perfect eye-popping sequin dress. This dress has a pattern, sleeve detail, and is sequin embroidered, so Ashley kept the rest of the outfit simple. Her earrings are gold with a sparkle detail, and her heels are black patent leather with a crisscross peep-toe.

Regan:

Her fun and flirty one shouldered dress is the perfect LBD for any formal occasion. Regan added colorful and sparkly statement earrings to draw attention to her face, and a simple sterling silver mini monogram necklace. Because of the simplicity of this dress, she picked a pair of bedazzled black pumps. For dresses with an asymmetrical neckline, we suggest that hair is pulled up into a tidy ballerina bun.

I Do Declare Boutique

Today we made a visit to White Rock Lake- the weather has been so beautiful lately! We want to tell you all about this great online boutique called I Do Declare. We both ordered our outfits off their website and were so happy with how they fit! Their clothes are very affordable and arrived pretty quickly after we'd ordered them. They have wonderful customer service and sizes are very accurate. Floral printed rompers and off-the-shoulder dresses are going to be big for this spring and summer. We definitely recommend that you add at least one of these trends to your closet! Ashley is wearing their Ellen dress with a white knit vest and Tory Burch sandals. Regan is wearing their Floral and Flirty romper with nude wedges and hot pink earrings.

Klyde Warren Street Style

We spent this morning walking around Klyde Warren Park and visiting the food trucks. Because of the "chilly" 50 degree weather today we had to rely on long sleeves and jackets. We are both ready to ditch our jeans for shorts, but we have about 3 more weeks of this weather. So we are making the most of it and wearing our favorite winter outfits before it gets warm again.
